Trained under Master Chan Kok-fai, a famous virtuoso, and Mr Law Ka-ying, a leading actor, Mr Wan Yuk-yu developed a keen interest in Cantonese Opera ever since his childhood. He later followed many Peking Opera teachers in refining his body gesture and skills on stage. He once organized a theatre company to perform in Malaysia and Singapore and was very popular with audiences. In recent years, he has returned to Hong Kong and taken up the second male role in various major Cantonese Opera troupes.
